    I know it's a good country.

One does not always do well in one's leaders, especially if you didn't vote for them.

    Tony Blair, please stand up.

Gordon Brown (even more unelected by me; unelected by fucking anybody), please fuck off.

When you're born here, you see things differently. Then it's up to your genes, parents and environment how you perceive and react to world history, and present situations.

On a purely tactical basis, Pearl Harbour was an impressive military evolution. And had the carriers been in port, the Pacific theatre might have turned out quite differently. Same result, mind, but probably longer.

Politically, Yamamoto nailed it; awoke the tiger and doomed them all.

Tony Blair got his balls trapped in the Bush foreign policy trap. Damned if he did, damned if he didn't. He is still well respected here.

I thought a lot of it was also from where your antecedents hailed from.

Explains why so many `Irish` supported the IRA.

Bejesus, glad that's over and done with. ;)

When Bush and Blair spoke side by side, the comedians would say, "Just let Tony talk and shut up, George."

Good point. I'm a German/Irish mutt. 75% German (Prussian), but still a mutt. We saw the world as is is, not from an ethnocentric viewpoint.

That must be nice for him.

He's a spineless coward at best; a fully aware traitor at worst.

America has become stuffed with all ethnicities. The country has shrunk to the point that, in the last 15 years, people are actually learning to get along (mostly).

    That whole thing created a cute, pointed, joke over here;

Why are we standing shoulder to shoulder with America in the War on Terror?

Would you trust an American behind you with a gun?

    ;)

Put all of that out of your head after the election. So much bullcrap! An entity cannot wage a "war" on terror. It can only take the best preventative measures.

I believe 9/11 was orchestrated by less than 100 people. How do you wage a war against an enemy that is virtually "vapor."

The pointed joke references `friendly fire` incidents. The US Military's habit of shooting at their allies and, occasionally, their own people.

Doesn't matter; Obama might be able to calm things down, actually get people talking and moving forward, inject a bit of much needed hope into the Middle East.

But Junior started a war which turned into a crusade that's going to suck us all in for a couple of generations yet.

At least until China start to move. ;)

RE: China... I was going to mention that.

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are power-mad people who thought they would go down in history as heroes. They wanted history to remember them as great. Instead they put a negative slide in the course of history for, as you say, at least a couple generations.

Obama still may not win. We'll see. (You heard it here first.) I hope he does. His focus is here in the U.S. ... He will have to delegate foreign policy powers to some very sharp people. I think he will succeed at that. Then we'll see where it goes (if he wins).
