    no, we pay for our own here but the majority of americans get it as part of their pay package working for a company.
    because if private health care providers see a maximum amount of dollars that can be earned they will not push as hard to differentiate themselves from other healthcare providers and therefore less likely to try to advance research and development. Most top medical schools like stanford which are private have their own professors and doctors constantly researching new medical techniques. Once you regulate it and put caps on things they will be less incline to do research. Look at where former Russian prime minister like Mikhail Gorbachev and where most foreign leaders go for their medical treatment that have government controlled health-care. ;)
