I'm not sure how many concurrant connections most of the "home base" wireless routers can handle here - I think it's 5 but don't quote me on that - we use much bigger managed routers.

 

Our house has a central wireless router. My computer has a wireless PCI adapter and in fact I can access other nearby routers and gain access to the web as long as the other routers have their WEP security key disabled, which is the case in two of the routers.

 

In the newest building it`s built in, but as said, often one "plugg" or through the telephone line in every home so everyone can chose for themselfes.
Routers are very popular here too, i think from about 66 US You can get a nice one.

... that is Why i hate routers inside buildings with many users ....

 

Sounds about right on average. There are a number of different brands, some better than others, so the price varies.

 

Even at work, we are about 30 in total, we don`t use router(s). They are starting with these "Small Clients" and it workes like shit !

5 i also think but not certain...i once had 5 connected...my xbox,my psp my laptop and my brother pc with a USB wifi stick and my pc via Lan...to check how much i can share

I'm sure the routers all have different specs on them - the one's we use have can support many more that 5. I was just saying the cheaper ones I think are 5 concurrent.

No; I assume. If so, they dont care.

 

If they are unencypted you can use sniffer software but most people don't care to fool with it.

 

If they know they would `cause they are missing a lot of fun !
