Think of votes as building blocks. The more that are gathered, the larger the bridge you can build. The electoral college only applies to the presidency so it's important to form large blocs of likeminded voters and unite them for the larger effort.

Everyone else we vote in to office are elected by popular vote.

Nevada went to Obama because of fed up conservatives who lost their homes in the mortgage crisis. He would've got my vote either way.

I think he'll make an excellent president. He's not as liberal as the conservatives made him out to be. He's really very much in the middle politically and has a history of seeing the merit on both sides. He knows how to get other people to meet him half way and that's basically what good diplomacy is all about. He's extremely intelligent, and a very good consensus builder, plus he knows his weaknesses and knows enough to surround himself with the very best minds. I think he'll prove pretty damn popular around the world for the length of his presidency.

 

I wonder if Bush is gonna make a public statement about it...they did say he called Obama after it was announced

 

oh trust me I hope that he'll make an excellent President as well. I have Friends in the USA right now from another board and they tell me how they have been suffering in the economy right now.
