Memphis is cool. LOL at the southern accent, you'd shit if you heard me talk - I really sound like a redneck hillbilly. You didn't hit the right places to eat if most of it was shit to you, especially in Memphis. Only been to New York a couple of times and don't see myself going back - the shitty attitudes that most of them have turned me off. Everyone needs to see it just once though. I've never been to Boston or Toronto, maybe one day. Glad you enjoyed it, hopefully while you were down here in the south you got treated with good ol southern hospitality.

I just love the Southern Accent.
On guys it's hilarious, on girls it's incredibly sexy.

The food in Memphis was delightful (loved the Blues Club/Grill on Beale St, where they got me into trying gumbo, ribs (they make Australian ribs taste like shit), and even some catfish).

I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to food, but i adored all the Southern foods i tried in Memphis.

The bad food was the takeaway (or takeout, as you say) foods in the more modern cities (LA, New York, Denver etc.).
I wanted to experience all areas of American food, and i was enamoured with the sheer amount of choice you guys have for junk food.

As a people, we Australians are extremely laidback and relaxed, so it was really difficult to handle the constant rushing, noise, pressure and general crankiness.

I enjoyed the experience of New York, but i couldn't handle living there.

Absolutely.
Everyone in Memphis was incredibly nice, helpful and willing to chat.

If i ever go back, i'll be spending all my time in the South.

I'll definitely be back.
