FWIW, I haven't voted because i've been off the board for months and it takes a few weeks back to get back into the swing of things (and to get to know posters who are new to me).

How long is voting open for?

    Haha

That boy must have alcohol cursing through his veins given how often he imbibes.

Oh god, i wish i could have one of them.

I generally sleep really well, but the absolute most my body allows me to sleep in a night is about 8 hours.

I need 8 hours. I always have, even when I was a kid. I only get 6 or 7, except for nights off, when I make it up with 9 hours or so. I wish I were one of those people who don't need more than 5 or 6.

I'll be here longer than that. ;)
Go check out my last post in the Phun Awards thred.

    November 30.
You know, I really don't think he drinks alot in volume. I think he has 4 or 5 drinks tops and that's it. Mostly I think he's just tired from working all day. He gets up pretty early in the morning, around 5:30 - 6:00 am.

I feel lucky if I get 5 hours of solid sleep. Sleep doesn't come easy to me.

He seems to get pretty wasted every day, and usually people who do that can handle their alcohol so it takes quite a few for them to get shitfaced.

Either way though, good luck to him.
Life is pretty damn hard most of the time, so one must do whatever makes them happy and gets them through the day.

I'm the same, but i can get to sleep easily and when i'm asleep, i'm pretty comfortable.

I drink a lot of water (3-3.5 litres a day), so i tend to pee about three times during the night now, so the most i tend to get is about two hours uninterrupted sleep at a time.

I don't think i've slept the whole night through since i was a kid. :(

The reason I said what I said is because he usually doesn't start drinking (or so he says) until 2 or 3 hours before he crashes out. And since inuk tends to spam his every action, you can actually count how many drinks he has. :p

I guess the question becomes, do you require the sleep but can't stay asleep longer?

I can only lay in one position for only so long and then I have to roll over, which wakes me up. My matress is plenty comfortable though. I think what really has me hyper-sensitive during my sleep is I'm used to waking up when my daughter cries out in the night. Just about any noise will do it now. (My kid will be 3 soon and no longer lives with me, but I was her primary caregiver from the time she was 6 months until she was 2 1/2 yrs old)

Stop drinking water around 5 pm, it goes through you faster than any other liquid. Or learn to sip after that time. It will help.

I don't count getting up to piss as an interruption. The best thing about that is I look at the clock and see it's not time to get up for good, and that make me feel great! (and relieved)

    That was almost a sentence.

In fact, I'm pretty much fully functional on any amount of sleep I get. That doesn't include falling unconscious after passing out dead drunk though. That shit doesn't cut it.
    Well, he does! :p

OK. The dogs and I are going to bed. With any luck I'll dream of Emmanualle or Natalie... but I've been having ex-wife nightmares lately.

    That is brilliant. :D

I used to turn every few hours, but i tore my groin about six months ago (it was quite the talking point around here at the time) so i had to stay on the one side all night, and it's kinda stuck since.

    So is mine.
About a year back we went for a latex mattress because my missus is such a light sleeper that any movement from me would wake her (on a traditional spring base).
The latex really does take away 'partner disturbance'.

    I couldn't handle that.

My sister has a 19 month old daughter and she always says she's tired because you don't ever really get 'good' sleep anymore as you're always, consciously and sub-consciously, listening for your child.

I try to do that, but i aim to get through 3 litres of water a day and i just can't manage it unless i drink through until later in the night.
The other thing is i need a bottle of water on my bedside table when i'm in bed because when i wake during the night, my mouth is always incredibly dry.

    :D:D

    You're on fire tonight, Scribe.

    Goodnight mate.

I'm actually not far off bed myself.
It's only 9.40pm and i'm already feeling like my bedtime is near, really shits me.
