    I'm still catching up with shit here after our little emergency dash to Brussels end of last week.

    Get this; they make us drive out there, but they can find a way to fly her back. Fucking people.

    She's back.....in a couple of hours, actually. Then a short evening, and a double drive to the airport; my folks and my girl. Although they are going to Spain and she's going to D.C.

    Yeah, it is pretty cool. Although it does feel a little souless inside the Beltway. Cities that are designed and crafted never have the same vibe as cities that are born, y'know?

    Canberra, Brasilia, Brussels, D.C. et al; they're just lacking that little something.

    Since it's our nations capitol I probably view DC a little different than you but I know what you mean. It was a history lesson for me when I wen't. I do like visiting old cities with history though, especially places where the civil war took place.

    I won't argue that it's more impressive than the other crafted capitals i mentioned. The others truly were just crafted out of nothing, and for much less grand a purpose than D.C.

    You know why Canberra is built where it is? It's exactly between Melbourne and Sydney. They couldn't agree on who would be the national capital, so they split the difference and built a city.
