The driver cost more than the Rockband. He's appreciative though, as long as he doesn't forget where he comes from and keeps his priorities in line i'll give him and the others what i'm able.

There are some of us old geezers that have never seen snow. I have never been "up north" in the winter. The closest I have come to seeing snow was in January of 2006 when I was in Atlanta to watch my youngest son's last college basketball game - the same weekend Atlanta had their last major ice storm. It was an interesting trip! I would love to get out of the Florida heat, but I am a die-hard biker and cannot fathom garaging by hog for 4 or more month a year. I get the shakes if I go more than 3 days without a good ride!

 

Party with family and friends. We usually go the clubhouse at the golf course I belong to. They usually have a band and breakfast after the party is over with.

This was one of the biggest Christmas' ever - usully not quite that much but yes, we give what we can afford.

 

Some of us just stay home to avoid all of the drunks on the roads that night!

How far down in the state are you? The upper panhandle has seen snow before. My county is about as far up in the state as Atlanta is - as a matter of fact i'm only about 1:30 to 1:45 away from it. I know what you mean, I don't ride but I get that way if I go much more than a week without golfing.

 

I live 2 blocks from the clubhouse, we can walk home if need be. Plus, the wife never drinks more than a glass or 2 of wine so she's always fine.

 

I am about an hour south of the FL/GA on I-75. We almost never have the required combination of low temperatures and humidity to create any measurable snow. Most of the time we get rain in front of the cold front immediately followed by cold, dry air (and not much of that!).

Pretty much the way it is here now. Years ago before La Niña and El Niño we would get 2 or 3 events a year, nothing huge - just a few inches or so. We got hit with a blizzard in 92, got 12-14 inches overnight. Haven't gotten anything worth speaking of since then. Disappointing to me.

 

About 30 years ago my doctors told me that I had already consumed more than my fair share of alcohol and I needed to significantly slow down - Now I rarely drink at all.
