    At 2 of his Detroit solo band shows (Jan Hammer on keyboards and the Brecker Bros. on horns). First show wast 1st come, best seats, so we got there 4 hours early. I talked to him for a while after his sound check. The 2nd time was after the 1st of 2 shows he did in one night at a night club. He was sittin' at the bar having a drink and I sat down and we yapped a little.

    You're reading my mind, throbbn. I'll make it easy for you: I like all of the drummers that shaped jazz and fusion through the decades. They each had something to offer. Each had strengths and weaknesses. Instead of being a jazz snob, I soaked it all up and learned and copied whatever I could. ;)
