I had a couple of meetings this a.m. and now this upgrade to do. It's a 2.5 GB database so it takes a while to do. Then ofcourse when it finishes i've got to push the updates out to the workstations. There's only about 10 of those so it won't be that bad.

Also, if you're on Ver. 7 try uninstalling it and reverting back to 6. I've had to do that on a few. If you're on Ver 6 - search for a utility called iefix - I believe it's up to Ver. 1.6 now.

We had one to hit us a couple years ago that was terrible. It litteraly shut our network down. We had to shut every single desktop down and manually remove it from each one - one at a time. Took 3 days working about 16 hours a day to finally get it all removed.

It`s just crazy how vulnerable most system are !
They are still not going on automatic on some machines, have to punch it in manual. Takes a lot of more time

The ones that come out before the virus people get a chance to update their definition files are the killers. Out virus update server looks for updates automatically every 4 hours but on the odd occasion that's not good enough.

 

Yes, they said that the anti-virus is always in the behind of the new ones !

I've always had a theory to that. The people that write the code to delete the viruses are mainly the ones that write the viruses. Others are shit head college kids doing it just to see if they can.
