Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     I just got the WD TV ....awesome gadget for viewing HD videos on TV...

    Why do you say that? The externals are just as reliable as internals now a day. Especially since they started making sata drives.
