For individual and joint returns yes. You have till the middle of April to get them done.

Agreed, when they first opened up I didn't mind even paying higher because of the amount of food they gave you. Not anymore.

With 3 kids as dependants I always get money from Federal and break very close to even on State. Some years I get and some years I give but it's never anymore that $50.

I rather owe a bit then get a refund because i see it as them holding onto my money interest free. I rather be the one owing them money cause that means i can sit on it and do other things for a year almost at free interest. (cost of this loan is .005 or 1/2 of 1%)

 

That's a practical way to look at it but we always use the money for our vacations. The wife and I take one early summer and the family takes one late summer - we use the refund money for that. If I get it through the year one of us will end up spending it rather than saving it.

 

well if you have a spending issue then yeah, i always try to save so i dont have an issue with paying out. Ultimately you owe the same amount regardless of what you deduct throughout the year. I Just rather have my money up front. And in this economy where the state will be handing out IOU's i rather not sit on a state issued IOU.

 

You know my state's financial predicament and issuing IOU's remind me of that movie Dumb and Dumber with Jim Carrey. The polititions are so inept that like the scene in the hotel where that crook asked "what the fuck are all these" and jim's charecter said, "well these are IOU's and theya re just as good as the real thing" as he is trying to explain how he can account for the 4 million dollar ransom but all the cash were gone.

 

LOL - you don't have to worry about the federal though, that's where the refund comes from, not the state.

I think all state's are like that. Maybe some worse than others but still - it's a disgrace.

Sort of. Told myself that christmas had been way to good on me, so i need to get back in shape. Last week i was walking 12 hours in total, trying to make 16 hours a week now.
