Only secure way i've ever seen is to do what Azz said. It's really not that hard but it does take up a good bit of bandwidth. Not sure how your cable tv works but over here you just run a cable from the camera to a switch. You then setup a vpn tunnel from your switch to the pc that you want to view from. It transmits the stream over the internet via the vpn tunnel so no one else can see it but you. VPN's are not hard to setup - the switch that you get to go to the camera should have step by step instructions on how to create one.

You can get the images to your pc with one of those but you still have to have a vpn tunnel so that you can see them over the internet to see them on the other end. I'll do reading in a little while - if i'm not mistaken you can get freeware that will suffice. You would need the camera and a wireless router at your office for the camera and hard wire your internet access and your pc to it. Then with the vpn tunnel you could go through the internet to get to your pc at work to view what was on the camera.
