That would work - the only thing is security. It's like wireless routers at your house, they are fairly easy to hack in to if someone really wants to - this would be the same. I'm an IT guy so I look at things a little different than most. A VPN would be what I would want but not necessary with that camera.

 

Im looking for ways to increase security at work...thats why im looking into the IP Cams...you know what my work is about...

 

So not a wireless cam?But the router is away from the area im interested to monitor...
Well i only want to check out the area when im away...i dont think anyone would want to hack it and even if the did they'll be looking at a room...

That one is not wireless - it's hardwired. You would have to run a cat5 cable from a regular router to both the camera and your pc. You need to find one like that one but wireless and get you a wireless router so you can plug your pc in to it for internet and the camera will transmit wireless.

Knock on wood..i hope so...we even installed a cellphone on the alarm so even if they cut of the phone line it will still call the police...

On the last break in they open the safe after they used 16 drilling heads!!!!!

The odd thing is that all these places are well protected...reinforced doors..alarms...big safe...and still they get away unnoticed...wtf...

 

Not sure how your business insurance works over there but over here if you were to get a professional security company to install it and sign off on it - it would pay for itself in a year by your insurance premiums dropping. Even though it's not that hard to do yourself, to be honest that's what i'd do.

 

Yeah thats new....they told us about the cameras...and i think thats from the most useful things...

We have a company that we work for many years with...they have installed all the rest of the systems and they suggested the cameras...thats why im looking into them...
