    FOX is a pretty good station but i've never heard of FOXLife - i would imagine it's close to Lifetime network, which is pretty much all chick-flicks.

    Static is setup by the local NIC, never changes - dynamic attaches to a server and gets it's ip from it via DHCP protocol.

    I find having a static IP is better if you do a lot of remote desktopping or using similar programs.
