That's always amused me. Last time I was there, the general feeling was that Quebec wanted `independence`, as long as the rest of Canada paid for the whole thing.

The Scottish Nationalist Party wants the same thing for Scotland. I say SNP and not Scotland, because the majority of Scots don't actually want `independence`. And the SNP know this. Which is why they keep putting off a referendum they've been banging on about.

 

I did the math. I believe I'm 1/8 French Canadian. I'll double check tomorrow. One of my grandmothers, whom I never met, was born and raised in Quebec.
