    I am still collecting unemployment checks but only have a few left. My parents own a house and I live on the second floor and help out when I can. There are no jobs available right now but I am hoping things get better soon.
    I am a cabinet maker by trade and nothing is available in that area right now.

    well the unemployment is beneficial. Having your parents owning their own home definitely helps. As far as wood work, do you have the machinery and tools to do it at home? Maybe you can modify your area of expertise around a bit and do local handyman work or work as a cabinet fitter. Also maybe do crafts and other stuff related to your area of expertise and sell them locally.

    wow, that sucks buddy. what other skills do you have? and what area of interest would you like to be in? I know right now it s pretty easy to get student loans for trade schools from the government if you want to head into a different direction.

    I was the shipping manager for a local company from 2004 till January of last year and I really liked doing that job. I have been thinking about seeing if I can get a loan and learning more about computers though.
