Meh. 135 minutes of football yet. If it stays at 1-0 tonight, Fergie will not be a happy bunny.

    Hey, hayd.

Actually, thinking on it more, The Matrix films fit the classic mould of a trilogy/series. The first is great, the second is alright, but in no way better than the first, and the third, whilst having some nice bits, is in now way better than the second.

The Battle for Zion was still pretty fucking cool.

Plus, you can see the join.

It's obvious to all that The Matrix was made as a stand-alone movie, a la `A New Hope`. Watching all three at once, you can see the change in tone, ideals, concepts.

Half the time, I just watch the first one, and leave it at that.

Yep the battle was cool...but the duel was better ;)

  9. They wanted to end the first one with hope for the future of that world but they also wanted to leave themselves somewhere to go if they decided to continue.

Well, there's more Bellucci; what's not to enjoy? :naughty:

I tried that site for a few minutes; couldn't get it to work.

Fuck it. I'm not that interested in seeing it. I'll just watch the all important second leg on the TV next week. ;)

Sure, but they never actually planned anything out. I've never been completely convinced that Lucas had the trilogy in his head before A New Hope was filmed. But I'm a raging cynic. ;)

    whoah...now there's one tasty buffet!! :D

  16. He didn't. The only thing he had planned was A New Hope. Anything after that was a cash cow.

I think he had bits and pieces figured out. He knew that A New Hope was the middle of the grander story and he got a kick out of 'starting in the middle'

and I'm sure he knew some events he would save for a second and third movie, like Luke finding out Vader was his father

Well, I'm not sure about that. A New Hope was a fairly wild idea, but 20th Century Fox didn't think it would fly, whereas Lucas did. Or he wouldn't have got such large concessions from them over whatever films and merchandising followed Episode IV. A fairly legendary, billion-dollar error on the part of the studio. ;)

The original trilogy, I think, came from a somewhat pure place. The recent three......yeah, not so much. :(:(:mad::mad::mad:
