    May Day Bank Holiday. Most everybody else has May Day Bank Holiday on....well, May Day, or the Friday. We always have it on the Monday. I forget why.

    Dude, we've had 2 cases of swine flue in our state. They're thinking about calling off all outside sports event till further notice :confused: I'm pretty sure they closed the entire county school system where they found it. The CDC ain't playing with this one.

    From what I understand it's the CDC that's suggesting it to the school systems. Just to make sure there's not a huge outbreak. But yeah, you're definitely right - the media tends to blow things out of proportion. I was just surprised they were wanting to go so far as shutting the school system down temporarily.

    The WHO is already trending backwards as it is.

    And this whole `threat level` shit hasn't been reported properly. Yeah, technically, it's Level 5, edge of pandemic. But it's a fairly non-lethal flu bug in a few countries. The system doesn't factor in numbers, just geographic spread and exposure. So, a few people come back from Mexico and pass it on to people at home, threat level 5.
