    Never liked the taste of them myself, especially if they're cooked in a crock pot with the carrots, onion, and potatoes all together. Seems like it has a startched taste to me.

    I prefer to grill just about all/any meat we eat - then cook the vegies seperate. That way they don't take anything away from the meat flavor.

    Obviously wherever you are in the world roasts are done in different ways but I agree with you there. I cook the meat on its own just with some herbs. Potatoes I cook in duck fat so they go really crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. As for other veg, my Mum owns an allotment so I get loads of fresh stuff for free which I tend to cook separately in a pan with a bit of butter.
