Been in this job 10 years.
robotic technician, PLC programmer, project management, mechanical design.............................
The job is very varied & often highly challenging.
Relatively small company so I also get to be a fitter/welder, electrician, & whatever else needs doing.

I used to be a full-time pro drummer/drum teacher here in the Detroit area. I changed careers and became a commercial writer. I was laid off of my last non-freelance job. But I'm still a drummer at heart.

I just sat up for that!
I play drums in a garage band, self taught, & somewhat lacking in technique I guess, but love to play.
Left hand, big kit (love the sound & feel) total Keith Moon wannabe:p

Very cool! Doing it for a living is a bitch. I learned everything from blistering rock to classical. And you have to be able to sight-read music on the job. That's where the money is.

I need to do more technical work, rudiments etc, the more I plat the more that I can see the need to have those techniques embedded in your mind & hands.
When I'm running hot, I still want to do more, & when I'm having an off day, the confidence of the practise would help pull me through better.
Lurk at Tiger Bills & others when I get time

You're doing it the fun way. Big drum set, play for fun, normal job to pay your bills. That's great! (The drummer in my avatar is Roger Taylor from Queen.)

Wasn't sure, but now I can see it for sure.
Decided I had to have a double kick (2 drums) after watching the 2005 Cream reunion.
If I could play half that good, & how thed f**k old is Ginger now!!!

Ginger Baker is a major influence on my rock drumming. I never used double bass drums, though.

Ginger is a major influence on ALL rock drumming, between Him, Bonzo & Keith the whole chronicle of rock drumming was written.

I love the double kick, different tuning on each drum, makes for some neat sound patterns as you play.
Need to work on my hands more, that is where I let myself down (most)
