    Base it on personal experience, or fantasy, take your time & flesh it out.
    use words to paint a picture in the readers mind.

    To be honest bro (and I do it because I like the confidentiality):

    I have completed my first week on the job.

    I don't get paid until 06/04. I have no food left until then. I have eaten nothing but mac n cheese for the last ten days, but only once. Phun has kept me going...and will continue to do so.

    The point is, is that I am hungry, BUT it's cool. I am getting by. You all make me laugh. I just need to get by until my first pay period.
