    The thing is that Ringo actually sounds great on a lot of Beatles records. Isn't there a rumour though that McCartney actually played a lot of the drums in the recordings? There's that famous quote isn't there?

    Lennon - He's not even the greatest drummer in The Beatles.

    You may think while you listen to the end ond abby road, which would be ringo's greatest moment, that he may have broken his signature time, but no! It was paul. Ringo also quit and they had to get a session drummer during the outro of I want you (she's so heavy). one of my favs too.

    McCartney could play anything. It wouldn't surprise me if McCartney did drum overdubs here and there. A studio drummer -- Bernard Purdy -- claims he played drums on Beatles songs, but he wouldn't name the songs and his claims have been dismissed by most. But, Ringo certainly played the early Beatles songs, and that's actually the era of the band that influenced me.
