It is funny that you would comment on the "riding feet forward." The Low Rider has mid-controls and that is why I bought it, but after about 6 month, I felt rather cramped and installed a forward control kit. I never used a windshield on my previous bikes, but all of my previous bikes had the long straight seats and you could slide your butt back and lean into the wind. Not on the Harley. Thus I now have a windshield, though cut down a bit. Otherwise, you are sitting there like a human parachute holding on for dear life at highway speeds. I am even going to change out my handle bars from the current stock ones to maintain the hand angle while moving the grips about 4 inches up, 4 inches back, and about 2 inches out. This is my first Harley - Sold my 1973 Honda 550 in 1978 and was bikeless until January of '02. I always wanted a Harley (love the sound) but back then they were shitty machines and around here only cops and scumbuckets road them.

My first bike I build from three wrecked triumph parts back in 1964 at the age of 14.

I have no attitude about what people ride, only on how they ride.

LOL I finally got that damn book last summer and started to read it. It really is not about motorcycle maintenance/mechanics!

 

Sweet with me, only one thing annoys me, & that is when someone either has to have a "pissing competition" or just has to slag anothe kind of bike off.
The open road & a nice bike is one of lifes great pleasures

I still have the book and do intend to finish reading it one day - I did enjoy the first 25% of it, I just spend most of my time reading stuff really dealing with bikes, riding, and stuck here in Phun!
