Just as soon as I sent the question, I thought of New Zealand. No, I virtually do not go to or watch movies.

In 1968-69, I had a diving coach from New Zealand. He was on the New Zealand Olympic team in the late 1940's or early 1950's, and his been all over the world as a diving coach. About 10 years ago I was watching an international diving competition that had the New Zealand national team participating - I saw him! His name was Jack Stewart. Ever heard of him?

 

Thanks! I could not think of any. I need to get a big world map to mount on my wall and pin the phunners on it. Us old farts need all the memory aids we can get!

thunderstorms are fun. Cumulonimbus clouds are the only clouds that give thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Sorry Thore, Jack Stewart was before my time, have heard of him, but he did spend a lot of time overseas, so guess he dropped off the radar to most people.

Not that I'm biased or anything, but I would highly reccommend getting LOTR out on DVD & watching it on the biggest screen you can.
The movie (series) is a visual feast of New Zealand scenery, & the story is well told too!

Plenty of rain & thunderstorms at home, bought a new warm jacket while I've been here in preparation!

 

Be back a little later as I want to sit on the back porch and enjoy the thunder storm! Rain is job security to a stormwater engineer!

 

Have a strong bias I know, but I'm proud of what NZ has, most NZers totally undervalue the place we are incredibly lucky to live in.

Having said that, Inuk, would love to come visit your part of the world someday
