    ..sad for the kid..but..her hand on the side of the kid is not free..and..it appears she was being pulled along..her arm was raised as if trailing who was pulling her....to acknowledge the kid..if she ever saw him..would have put on the breaks on the whole situation..she went the path of least resistance
