You forgot to say, "500 times the number of posts, with practically no sharing of content (if at all)." But if you yourself are awed by just the number of 50,000 posts in less than a year and a half, that's on you...

I've been posting my thumbnails as such for the longest, with no amending by any moderator or admin (including in this thread). I guess i'll just have to catch up on the rules...

 

i didn't forget to say it, i know ares is a very active and respected member of the forum and as such i've got no interest in judging how "worthy" his 50,000 posts may be considered by others.

but as i said i enjoyed the video, and thanks for it and just as a pointer, you can use ImageGrabberII to make valid previews like this

 

Ordinarily, I wouldn't be here to judge how relevant someone else's posts are, either. I'm not the critical type.

But, you can't come across all high and mighty with a "Is this movie even worth my time?", and say as much to my face, when the person in question doesn't even upload nor share anything. . .

I do have imagegrabber. It's just that, in all of the other handful of forums that i post at, i'm allowed to post a link to the actual video on my blog (along with thumbnail, and link to download), so people can watch the entire video and not have to download. But this forum won't let me link to my blog.

I guess i'm just too lazy to do an imagegrabber for this one forum...

As much as I hate to approved posts with only one picture, I did.

I would prefer that all posts have a series of screen captures or a hotlink clickable thumb, that gives you a full representation of the video clip being offered.

Now Ares asked a valid point, and DO you immediately attacked him, instead of just answering his question or ignoring it.

So from now on, stop the flaming and arguing.

and DO, try using IM2 and posting better thumbs/screen of your clips, you'd probably get more thanks and comments.

Like i said, if there's something i'm not doing that's required (according to forum rules), in regards to pictures, i will go back and re-read the rules. Let me know if that imagegrabber thing is required because that didn't come across in the rules. I already explained why i don't use imagegrabber. Is there anyway, for any given post, that i can post a link directly to my blog so people who don't want to download the WMV can view it there?

(I figured it's worth a shot asking...)

In the meantime, do me a favor: tell your friend not to take time out of his busy schedule just to wander into my posts (plural) with a holier-than-thou attitude telling me how he will not be downloading my clips. (Wouldn't that time be better spent going into the thread of a clip that you like and thanking that poster?)

Then i might actually answer his relevant questions, and also that might actually stop the arguing and flaming from ever happening. . .

The more info the better is what I am asking you for. Multiple screen captures or a thumbnail is the best way to go.

Anyone can comment in any and all threads, regardless of their contributions, just like you can. The thing you can not do is flame another member in the process.

He did not tell you he would not download the file, he asked why he should based on one picture to judge from.

Additionally what do you consider a non-contributor?

If I never create a thread in the Amateur Forum (which I haven't), then I am forbidden from commenting at all? Not the way it works at Phun.

 

The thumbnail i did post here (in fact, every clip thumbnail that i post) is not clickable because the actual uploaded image is only 160X120 to begin with, and that's why there's no link to a bigger pic.

Sure there are plenty of people who don't upload anything, and they comment in various threads to their hearts' content. That's all well and good.

But none of those other people reply to a post of mine with a "Just on principle, even thought so small, why should I download that?" ribbing.

And in that instance, it's also my prerogative to comment back with a "non-contributor" response - which is a not-so-subtle dig on my part at someone who criticizes (and has porn principles, to boot) but does not.

Trust me, he did download the movie. Otherwise, why all the interest in this thread in the first place? But instead of just saying "thank you," he's trying to play it off like he wouldn't download such a short movie because he has his principles.

And by the way, whatever happened to diplomacy? If you do have interest in a clip (or any content for that matter), and you download it (which i believe he did), but you see something you don't like in the way the post is constructed, a

"This clip looks good/promising. Could you post a bigger pic if you have it next time?"

reply would be nice...
