That's why I said i'd reset everything back to factory settings - it was working fine before. It doesn't take long to reset up a few connections rather than try to research which settings is causing the issues.

can have some effect if you seed a lot. If seeding a lot try max MTU of 576 if not try 1476

when i installed the wireless router cd i didnt see any options for setting up security or a password.

thats why i had him come. that, and i didnt know what settings to use for the security once it was installed.

its a belkin router btw.

but the person i live with called him back and hes coming monday. he thinks its the router. hes gonna bring a new one.

but im gonna try what all u suggested before then. and hopefully i can just tell him to shove it up his ass.

but this is sickening, i cant stay connected long enough to reply sometimes.

so im gonna shut down. i cant stand this shit.

could also easily be that your isp restricts the ports p2p uses to keep people from doing it

I'm not familiar with torrents so I don't know. A router is just what is says - it routes info from point a to point b - from what I do understand the torrents start mulitple d/l sessions so if you have a cheaper router it's possible it can't handle the traffic load on say 7 or 8 sessions but it can on 4 or 5. There is a fine line on the "home" routers out there on which ones are better for certain things. You do get what you pay for.
