i broke down and bought the rapidshare account, well worth especially with a slow upload which makes it hard to share

 

I'm thinking about it, it seems that almost everyone here has one, so i figure i should also..

 

if you have a good upload you could get a free one pretty easily, my upload is horrible though so i dont bother

if you set up a collectors account you get points everytime somebody downloads your files, after you get 10,000 points you get a free month membership, i think a lot of people have self sustaining memberships

i collected enough once with some Kates PLayground vids i upped a long time ago, but after it expired i decided to just buy one

 

Sounds like alot of work each month just for it to be free,, i think i will break down also and get an account,,

Its only 100 bucks a year or so, whats yet another bill..

 

I dont pay or sign up with real credentials. The copyright cops get your cc# on an acct that has violated the ever changing laws and youre screwed. with a yahoo acct you chk just once to activate your collectors acct and while your isp tracks you you can always say someone malwared or zombied your system, but if you use a cc your screwed because you had to pay to infringe. thats evidence of prior knowledge on your part. Real cc customers of fileshare services will kill filesharing.

np, your choice of course, and many have accts for years with no hassle. Unfortunately, I've had several copyright issues over the years. So I'm more than a little paranoid about it.

 

have many people been in trouble from downloading from rapidshare?

i know companies go after rapidshare, but i think it would be difficult to get individual numbers from a German company

im no expert, but i think that torrents and p2p is more dangerous because they can go after you for distributing copy written material, but with rapidshare you only download, so it would be possession of copy written material, like the difference between buying and selling drugs

but once agian i have no idea, it makes sense to me though
