    Your week sounds EXACTLY like my last month. Except of course our people are being released before they are able to retire so the district doesnt have to pay nearly as much in benefits to retirees.

    Up until the last year, they would wait until another engineer had totally screwed up a project before calling me in to "salvage" it. Could write a book here, but I won't. About a year ago, I was given about 6 projects to manage from the project initiation to fruition - that is what I prefer by far! I now have 16 projects underway and have had no significant issues with any of them to date. I think my stock is on the rise as the other engineer project manager just keeps on stepping in it!

    :tup: always good to be the head geek. theyre the ones management hates/fears but just cant fire. Oh, and we make really nice money, because in the end, somebody has to actually get the job done. That's you apparently at your place. :tup:

    They offered several people early outs with incentives. There's several new director positions now, also new CEO and COO as of the last few months. Things seem to looking like eventually they will be better but right everything for the IT world is a total clusterfuck. The boss new he was retiring for several months prior to leaving and let stuff go - now we're paying for it.

    Well, the boss used to do the Mangement part of it and I did the "grunt" work but as the last year or so as soon as the contracts were signed it got dropped on my desk. No one else in this department does it so I don't have to worry about someone else's screwups. I just simply want to know what I have on my plate for the near future before I get called to drop everything else i'm working on and fix it. Not to much to ask I don't think.
