    Searchers have located the pilot of a single-engine airplane that went down near Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, on Thursday evening.

    A spokesperson for the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton, Ont., told CBC News the plane had hit bad weather and clipped the ground near Ferguson Lake.

    The aircraft was damaged, but the pilot suffered only minor injuries.

    Search-and-rescue efforts were hampered by bad weather, but two Inuit guides on all-terrain vehicles found the man and transported him to a nearby cabin.

    The plane belonged to an outfitting company.

    Search officials say a company plane is expected to pick up the pilot sometime Friday morning, as soon as the weather clears.
