    The only plug-in I've installed in my browser is the VLC plug-in, now that I think of it. And I can de-activate that if I want.

    Lucky for me (but not for others), most viruses etc. are aimed at Windows. I don't worry much on a Mac about that.

    i havent had 1 virus since i got this laptop!

    had a couple warnings, but nothing ever got through, i dont think.

    You may want to use the VLC plug-in yourself in Safari. Try it without first. If media doesn't play, then install VLC.
