    I would never recommend that because not only is it expensive but alot of times fit and proper placements of the components you want/need are hard to come by. That is why you never see cases and parts sold new for laptop builds.

    For PC's i have built from scratch several including this one I am currently using which is a 3.2 ghz P4 with hyperthreading. It boots up in seconds and can do anything a new comp can do now. That is why although it is 3+ years old it is still more than adequate for what I need.
