Dude, in San Diego, it's THE thing to do if you're in high school or college (or at least around that age). It's good stuff but I don't get the hype.

It gets annoying as hell though. During class, all the kids talk about how awesome EDC was or how awesome Hard Haunted Mansion is gonna be. That's all they talk about. And it seems like all the facebook picture updates from my friends consist of dancing/techno stuff they went to over the weekend

That age group needs to define themselves or they feel like they're drifting into oblivion. Music is a strong defining mechanism. Sounds like it's especially strong in your social group.

It's okay, I'm 20 and that's exactly how I felt when all my friends started blasting me with all this stuff.

This was my thought process, "why are you guys dressed up weirdly, why are all you girls dressed up like skanks... actually I don't mind that at all... and why are you guys listening to music that we used to make fun of 10 years ago because only Asians listened to it?"

 

I keep circling back to the Stones, Hendrix, Van Morrison.

Not a lot of really new, consistently good stuff out there.

 

I like the skanky girl look, though, if she's disease-free.
