    Still use arp for backup since we still have wins running for some old scanning systems + it's just never been written out of the district networking. Maybe someday.

    we've got wins & dns here too but i've never had any resolution issues with non-os machines if I add the A record in AD. You have macs mixed in there?

    I dont have anything below mac 7.61 in a 3rd grade art lab but it's standalone, about the only thing arp is good for anymore is the attendance clerk scanning software which will only run on win95B that they refuse to replace. My world is mac, win(from 95b-vista), novell 4.5(still running groupwise due to CIO lunacy), linux, nortel, a suse firewall system and nt4, 2k & 2003 enterprise servers. You dont even want to hear about antivirus policies and deployment.
