That's why Costco have come here. We have 2 major stores. Woolworths and Coles. They occupy 80% of the market and are damn expensive.

It is? I don't remember ever hearing the name before.

They've never had delivery trucks in this area.

OK. I see what they did. Downsized, went overseas and charged a lot. But they were always a good quality store, if I remember right.

Oh yes. We still take home boxes from sams.

I've never bought a thing from amazon

Woolworths became Woolco here in the US. Walmart bought a bunch of their stores.

if you saw O Brother where art thou, they got banned from the Woolworth. Our Woolworths used to have a soda fountain when I was very little. :)

I've bought tons of books, DVDs and CDs from Amazon. Mostly books and DVDs -- a few CDs.

They've all been under the microscope here. Right now they're trying to change the name brands with their own home brand. Coles is also doing it. Woolies is a little cheaper though.

Soda fountains were an integral part of department stores back in the day.

I have a couple of books I want to get. Is it cheaper than book stores or was it just for convenience?

Trailer for a new Rossum movie. Couple of nice cleavage moments.

That's a big deal in many stores now. Made in China cheaply, stamp their name on it and big profit.

Now if I want a book I support my local bookseller -- Borders if I can. Otherwise Barnes and Noble.

Amazon is almost always cheaper, and since both Borders and B&N are both mega chains, if i want to help a bookstore I find a mom & pop shop.

K-Mart is like the only store from my youth that's still around.
Venture, Phar-Mor, Omni, and Cubs Foods are all gone. At least around here.
