    I currently take my image and then make the canvas width 3 times the height.......then do what i can w/ the original image....free transform it to fit......and go from there.........

    I think 250 is to big. 200 might be ok but then I think the width should be expanded to keep the same ratio as the 450 x 150 sigs.

    450 by 150 is hard enough.......150 by 900 would be impossible..
    I think 450 x160 would help a lot............

    Dont know how many times i cropped a sig and it was 450 x 160 something....and pissed when i had to take it down to 150

    I always crop my sig first and then add stuff like a background or brushes. My sig's aren't that complex though.

    I look at the image and imagine it in the 450x150 constraints. I can tell right away if an image won't work in 450x150 -- based on my talent.

    Every opinion has merit. If you have made a sig you've dealt with the issues at hand, and that qualifies you. Just because 900x150 is available doesnt mean it needs to be all used.
    Yesterday I had a sig that was 150x75. I would just like to have the option to go wider.
    I know I'm the only one around who doesnt mind the "150" part, but I start all my sigs on a 900x300 canvas. I used to use 3000x1000 but it was too extreme a downsize to maintain quality. If 900 is too wide, how about 800 or whatever 1024-padding-sidepane = out to. I run 1440x900 and when Im certain my job is secure, I'll change out my laptop screen for a 1920x1200 res screen. So, at that point 450x150 will be ludicrous and I'll dump sigs all together.
