nope. That's a pre expansion lvl 60 dealing 200 dps back when you had to work and play well to win instead of just cruising thru effortlessly like it is today. FFS, 364 per bolt on magic missles? Pre Expansion? Lol, I was a total 3 minute glass cannon.

Now I have a gateway 6860FX lappy with 4gb ocx hyper ram, Intel 9300 proc, 2 320gb scorpio drives in Raid 0. And a little old acer 5250 that uses whatever parts Ive replaced out of the 6860. No desktop anymore until D3 comes out then I'll build a desktop for it.

Im figuring on $3500 to build the box to play it. I'll be doing 4 raptor RAID 0 drives on an extreme intel setup with 2 or 3 nvidia top of the lines then all external sata for storage so i dont suck down the juice too badly. I havent gotten too specific with the want list because I dont know what will be current around Christmas. I'm just running a general idea as of yet except for basic plan. I'm thinking 8gb Ram of the new corsair high end stuff for memory as well. It's just strictly for D3 so i can be pretty directed. I'll still have the lappys forr general computing.

 

the only thing i would say is get Ati instead of Nvidia, so u will only win aroun 5-10 fps but pay atleast 100-200 $ more

 

D3 is gonna kill systems by the truckload. I refuse to play at mid or low settings. If I spend my money to play it, it's gotta look good. My wow was always highest settings and if it dropped below 30 fps I built a newer box. I hate poor performing gaming setups.

 

yea same here, but with the system i've got now i can still play every game on the highest settings, and i think i'm still able to overclock it a little more

 

Naw, i havent had ATI since my Rage setup fried my Tyan board because ATI used cheap resistors. Voided a $1000 board/proc/mem because of it and ATI would only cover their vid card. I've never bought ATI again. I dont know about them any more, but their drivers used to suck monkey butt. Everything i have is vidzilla anymore except the acer which just has intel pseudo video.

 

You playing DoW2? Im at 3/4 settings@ 40fps but i dont like the game enough to upgrade the sys for it.

Well i used to be an Nvidia user aswell, but last time i built a desktop. Nvidia asked over 100$ more for less fps so that's why i decided to take ATi. The driver problem are way long gone and nvidia just as ati are good at this point. i just think the prices that Nvidia ask when they release new gfx cards are insane...

 

Nope i don't play it, first one it the best i think and don't think there need to be changed anythink there good as they are, great work!
