She's recently joined the group The Beautiful People. From the TNA website. Apparently, she's done or is doing Playboy...

As long as she doesn't follow the Von Erich family legacy... (lot's of suicides, ODs, etc...)
If she actually is a 'Von Erich' and not just using it as a stage name.

Wow I think i'll be checking out some TNA soon!

I was also a fan of her father "The Texas Tornado" (Kerry Von Erich) during his days in the WWF during the early 90's.

That was actually a low point for the Von Erich family, they reached their Zenith in the late 70s and through the 80s with the AWA and NWA respectively, they were the hottest ticket in Texas for several years and PACKED stadiums and arenas down there.

Well I don't know about the Von Erichs but, for Kerry, being in the WWF and getting national and international exposure is magnitudes bigger than anything he could achieve in just one state. As "The Texas Tornado" he became an international star and I as well as 99% of the millions of WWF/WWE fans around the world wouldn't have a clue who he was if he hadn't gone there. They gave him a decent push too, he was the I.C. Champ for a while. Don't know why they released him after only a fews years. But i'm guessing drugs or something?? I know he killed himself shortly after. So sad.

Hope Lacey steers well clear of the terrible path her father and the other Von Erichs took, I think I'll enjoy watching her ;)

He WAS released because of drugs IIRC. The Von Erichs and Kerry himself made MILLIONS of dollars in regionals and the NWA (which was the 1st and for many years biggest national/international pro wrestling organization) LONG before the WWE was a twinkle in Vince Jr.'s eye, Vince Sr. and (at that time) WWF were just small east coast regionals when the patriarch Fritz Von Erich was a big draw nationally/internationally and had a huge following. Guess I'm showing my age.

lol maybe a bit ;) but thats cool, i've been following wrestling only the last 20 years roughly, so I really don't know much about what went on in the early 80's and almost nothing about the 70's but it sounds like interesting times. thanks for historical info!

Fritz was just reaching the height/end of his career when Andre the Giant was just becoming a HUGE draw, he had wrestled with some of the all-time greats, including Baron Von Raschke, Vern Gagne, Jacques Carpentier, George 'the animal' Steele, the Funk brothers and too many others to name.

cool, hopefully WWE will release a Von Erichs DVD soon with all this stuff as Vince bought their entire video library from Kevin Von Erich a few years back.

The Von Erichs' in Texas and NWA wrestling are what the Hart Family is to Calgary/Canada and Stampede wrestling.

Hey X-Spectre, if you've ever heard of an old (senior citizen now) wrestler that goes by the name Red Bastein... he's actually my Grandmother's cousin. Apparently he was a title holder in the old AWA, NWA and was or still is the president of the Cauliflauer Alley Club.

99%? That number is way too damn high. Most wrestling fans actually research other promotions. Whether it be from magazines or videos sold from said magazines. Just because you didn't doesn't mean you should clump us all together. I, for one, knew who Kerry was before he got to the WWF.

Hell yes I know who Red Bastien is, he is the man who brought us Sting and the Ultimate Warrior (he started both of their careers and helped to create both personas), he held a lot of titles in the AWA and tons in the 'regional' promotions of the NWA which later became WCW. He isn't president of the Cauliflower Alley Club anymore however, (since 2007) Nick Bockwinkle is the current president. IIRC Red Bastien actually tag teamed a couple of times with one of my all-time favorite wrestlers here in the midwest, 'Bulldog' Bob Brown many years ago and possibly also Rufus R. Jones.

As an aside Harley Race is married to a (very) distant cousin of mine and they have/had a home about 50 miles from where I now live for many years, tho I have never met him or the distant cousin.

Its interesting you mention the Hart family because I recently found out that it was in fact Stu Hart who first found and trained Fritz Von Erich to be a wrestler and started him wrestling in his promotion in Edmonton Canada! Stu even come up with the "Von Erich" name (their real family name is Adkisson). Where would wrestling be without Stu Hart man, we certainly wouldn't be here chatting about no Lacey Von Erich thats for sure!

We wouldn't be on here if it weren't for Phun... and Lacey being super-hot either. lol

Old school rasslin', hot rasslin' babes, and epic rasslin' families/legacies... it's amazing what guys beating each other up in tights have given the world. God bless every dang bruised, battered, broken one of them.

I wish 'old school rasslin' still existed, unfortunately it lives only in memory and on the rare DVD that Vince/others allow to be released... any wrestling beyond 1990 is for the most part pure crap, except for the parts with nearly nude stripper/pornstar models as women wrestlers that is ;)
I'd LOVE for ESPN or ESPN2 to play the old AWA shows, in re-run, even late at night.

ESPN Classic does, but I'm afraid they won't move them to the other channels.
