Kelly Clarkson on stage @ Hammerstein Ballroom, NY - Oct 6, LQ's

Easy there chief, I'm a founding member of the smartass club on Phun, and take my shots at plenty of celebs, BUT, Kelly Clarkson, even in these pics is FAR from FAT or OBESE, I'm guessing she may be 20-30 lbs over her ideal weight but that is WORLDS away from being at a level which will cause health problems.

There are many girls on here I'd have the same reaction too. Ones that people say are chubby, etc. and I think they look absolutely fine. Kelly is not one I can defend.

she is 30-40 pounds over -- EASILY -- and she'd fit the medical term for obese sorry to say. At her height, according to accepted medical terms she should be in the 120's or 130's .. and she was at one point. She's much bigger than that now. She's 5' 3 1/2'' and according to all accepted medical advice she'd be obese a little over 170 pounds -- and I guarantee she is at least that big now.

Now, I'm all for some curves on a girl and I don't think stick thin is healthy or even attractive many times -- but Kelly needs to lose a bit of weight now, or it'll never come off. She's still young, so she needs to change her habits now. Otherwise she'll continue to gain as her metabolism slows as she gets older. Eventually she'll need to be rolled around.

But, if she's happy that big, more power to her. And I also agree that people need to settle down and treat others with more respect.

 

There is ABSOLUTELY zero possibility (IMHO) that she's in excess of 170 in these pics, no way. Of more concern in Kelly's case than her current weight is her tendency to yo-yo her weight which is by all medical advice worse for you than maintaining a higher than ideal weight all along.

 

She's still good lookin

 

Trust me ... she's at least ... look at the hips, stomach in side shots and the arms. Dead giveaways at her height. And I've seen my fair share of women -- and know there weights to boot. But, even if she's 15 pounds less ... she's still considered fat.

The woman above was 170 and ~5'4'' and afterwards was under 140 ... And her hips are smaller than Kelly's in this picture. Weight can be deceiving. In fact, there's a good chance she's over 170. If you don't think it's true that's your own choice, but reality is a different story.

 

I forgot to mention -- you're right about the yo-yoing weight .. but unfortunately, it hasn't been yo-yoing much recently. Just a steady rise.

 

It's no skin off my ass either way, I'm not a rabid KC fan. I'll just say that I'm willing to bet I've seen AT LEAST as many women in my day and in fact several women in my family are the same general look (height, weight etc..) as KC in these pics and I know for a FACT that they are all under 170. All I'll say is that opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.

 

Agreed on that. Just curiously, how much do you think she weighs?

 

I'm guessing she's probably NEAR the 170, so let's say 160-170.

I would say maybe 155.

 

For some reason I thought of the fate of Mama Cass Eliot - didn't she <expire> over-indulging on some sandwich .....
But to return to Ms KC: she was receiving heavy criticism, years back, in those first bikini shots and she wasn't this heavy then.

@an observer -- I think she died of a heart attack. The sandwich was an urban legend I believe.

In ref to KC -- She was a bit chubby in the bikini shots, but still cute. I didn't have an issue then ... if she weren't wearing black in these pictures (and most of the other recent ones) she'd look even a little bigger.

 

She has been and always will be worthless and ugly. Now she will just be fat, worthless and ugly.

It's people like you that make young girls turn to starving themselves so they can fit into your impossible standards. It is far better to be fat than a stick figure. It is people like you that ruin a girl's self esteem at young ages and that needs to stop.

What bullcrap!! I would say the same thing about underweight people as I do about overweight! They are both disgusting and unhealthy! Don't EVER put bullshit words in my mouth!!!!!

and another thing, im no shrink and i've never watched that fame whore Dr Phil, but its common knowledge that people who suddenly balloon up without any physical medical conditions is usually caused by "comfort eating" due to some sort of unhappiness or depression in ones life. You don't need to be a shrink to know this, just do some reading every once in a while, you might actually learn something!
