Hey PM, how are you? I woke up to receive that email no one wants to get. Paraphrased - "Your monthly internet usage has exceeded 100gb, so as a result we shall be capping your speeds at peek times for at least a month."

Fuck knows how I used that much, I've barely downloaded anything.

It's the joke that is unlimited internet here in the UK. What they fail to tell you is that if you exceed 100gb they'll always cap your peek time speeds, it's a disgrace.

 

At peek times for months now they've capped my torrent speeds to a ludicrous 14kbps. I go to download a song or something and it tells me it'll take 6 months to finish.

 

Well, you could always do what the time warner cable customers do around here.

Every time there's a rate hike or talk of limiting bandwidth all their service vans seem to catch on fire and their control nodes get chopped up with axes. Happened here a couple times in the last few years. Now they keep all their service vehicles behind razor wire.

I've called them up before and they just told me it was all detailed in the small print of the contract, so there's shit all I can do about it except change providers, and I can't be bothered with that hassle.

What happened was they warned me that I'd exceeded 80gb already and if I went over 100 they'd cap me. I went over it and there's nothing I can do now except curb my usage until they lift the restrictions.

The real thing that pisses me off is the false advertising. It says unlimited but it's far from it. These fucking companies just exploit these loopholes to screw over their customers.
