Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Lots of content sharing goes on too, so I can see why it can be possible. It probably targets this site because this place has the most traffic. Pretty much since you just visit here you're inviting it to your computer :)

I set my browser to clear everything when it closes, so it's probably not that. Perhaps other UK Phunners are having similar problems. Who knows? I'm sure it will get better.

Ok, to put it simply. You know that your hard drive is the slowest thing in your computer, right?

That card is a harddrive made of memory sticks that fits in a slot as fast as your video card.....Which is about 2xs as fast as anything else in your computer. So, in real life terms, it makes your system about 50 times faster doing real life stuff than normal.

You can have the cleanest system and still get that Spyware shit on your system. You can never really totally rule it out. :)

Damn that sucks. I had something on mine and I had to do the system restore bit too. Luckily enough I didn't have too much important things on it.

True, but I tend to go by the fact that my computer runs at the same speed as when I first got it, and starts up as quick too. That's good enough for me. I probably do have Spyware buried in my system somewhere though.

All you really can do is accept there is Spyware out there, and try to delete the most you can from your system. It is a losing battle, we'll never have any more Spyware free computing any more since everything is getting faster these days. I guess it comes with the territory .

    That's good AFX. :)

didnt mean that to sound condescending, that really is what it's doing. i've been at this since 1983, And I still have to try and translate this stuff into terms I can understand. Actually, explaining staight forward like that is part of my normal job, and i just find it easiest to say it plain the first time.

I think my computer's over 3 years old or something now but somehow still starts up in a little over 30 seconds. I have optimised the shit out of it though.

if you really want to find out, go here http://blackviper.com
find your exact os. find the section on running processes.
open your taskmanager, sort by names and start comparing.

it'll take a bit of time, but if you follow his list and do what he tells you, your system will run better than you've ever seen it. MS Technet has been referring to this guy since Win95.

If you really dont want spyware, you can do what i did. Switch to Linux. There isnt a damned thing running on my system now except exactly what i friggin want.
