Yeah I've done all that stuff before, worked a treat.

As you're here Cylnz, see what you make of this crazy story.

My ISP supposedly has some technology that makes it impossible to hack into my network, but a couple of months back I'm sitting on my sofa with the comp on, watching TV, and I notice the cursor move on its own. It clicks on my mp3 folder, highlights a song, then closes that window and loads up Mozilla. It opens my bookmarks up, then in the address bar starts to type "pay money" but stops at mone, at which point I whipped out my wireless adaptor. Nothing has happened since and I changed my wireless key. I told my ISP and they didn't even believe me because it does sound like a film plot. What do you think?

wanna try a quick fix that you can undo in a few seconds, Sleep?

    start>run>msconfig

    goto>startup uncheck everything

restart. Is it faster? did you get messages saying blah blah? go back to msconfig and turn back on the stuff you need and leave the rest of the crap off.

Oh, if you keep those settings, put a chk in the box in the bottom left of the msconfig start up msg and it wont popup anymore. It's an IT fix for production system configs. Just a quick tip. ;)

It's really fucked up though, everyone I've told has pretty much thought I was bullshitting, including my ISP.

press Windows key + Break key. up pops sysprops. look thru until you find "allow remote access to be sent to/from this computer. Make sure all that shit is off. close it up

    Goto start>run>msconfig

    goto services

uncheck terminal services and it's dependencies (if you do this you'll have to manually update windows)

There. All better. I used to remote into my users all the time to fix their systems from my office. Windows leaves a lot of stuff wide open. I would say it's time to do a format reload, if it's been since 2007 when you got it.

PS. Your isp is full of shit. If you leave a door open flies come in. No matter what the cops say. Flies still get into open doors.

Thanks again Cylnz. Actually another weird thing was happening recently. I was picking up the sound of someone else's internet through my speakers crystal clear. At least I think it was someone's internet because it said something like "this video is from videojug.com." It was some yoga spoof. Incredibly strange. This happened a few times and just stopped.

I dont see why people would be amazed, my nephews insisted on playing this online java rpg game. The game used p2p. So did the bot net that used the boys systems to store and broadcast an mp3 torrent site. This was 2 weekends ago. Game is Grandchase.
It happens all the time. Especially if you use torrents/p2p. It's a joke at that point.
    Think about it.

p2p as a concept allows other unknown people to anonymously attach to your system along with thousands of others to share information and storage/distribution.

Can you imagine an easier way to gain control of peoples systems?

That must be what it was actually because the first thing I checked was the remote settings and they were enabled for some reason.
