Let's not assume that she's a flash in the pan. She's very beautiful, has mesmerizing eyes and a smile "to live for". She'll certainly grace many magazine covers to come and have a lot of photo shootings (hopefully with little or no clothes).

One suggestion for her future career, though: she should stay away from crappy reactionist authors like Stephenie Meyer and wooden actors like Kristen Stewart / Robert Pattinson (IMO worst actors of the last ten years).

True, Kristen is awful in Twilight. But that's mostly the material.

But if you've seen The Cake Eaters or Speak or In The Land Of Women or Into The Wild and still think she's awful, well, then we'll have to agree to disagree about her chops as an actress.

But you'd still be wrong.

Thank you for the tips. Will have to see Kristen in other movies (until now only seen her in "Twilight", and that was pure suffering).

Highly recommend her other works; she's great.

Avoid Ashley's first proper foray on her own, `Summer's Moon`; it's abysmal. :(

Here it comes, arespilgrim, brace yourself ;) - A short review of three of the Kristen Stewart movies you've recommended. And maybe some other people would also like to know?

God bless the Internet that makes a quick survey and easy access possible. I should mention in advance that every movie, regardless of its quality, gets a 30-minute obligatory watching time during which it can prove it's worth being watched till the end. Well, the majority of the movies aren't.

    Speak (2004)

Turned off after 30-minute obligatory watching - movie is poorly and stereotypically done, slow and with a troublesome approach to the characters. No incentive to care for them or for the narration.

Performance of Kristen Stewart: a "D" (according to school grades A-F).
Nothing to be seen of the pain, inner struggle, or expression that would be needed to make the situation of her character plausible. Miscast as lead role and rape victim.

In the Land of Women (2007)

Turned off after 30-minute obligatory watching - the movie isn't a comedy, more a kind of incoherent drama that can't focus on the problems. Hopping around, picking here and there doesn't make a movie interesting.

Performance of Kristen Stewart: a "D".
Not much to be said about her, as she has only a few scenes in the first 30 minutes, but no revelation in them: the same old, same old face with dried-up expressions (is she taking botox at her young age? Is she doing tranquilizers?). Elena Anaya as the ex-girlfriend was far more impressing.

    The Cake Eaters (2007)

Enjoyed watching this little movie. Actress Mary Stuart Masterson as director did a fine job in depicting the intertwined lives of two families. The movie is heart-warming, yet down-to-earth, and gentle with the characters.

Performance of Kristen Stewart: a "B".
She plays beautifully a 15-year-old girl handicapped by Friedreich's ataxia (in case of acute interest: look it up, guys!). Although her facial versatility is limited as usual and she has problems conveying subtle emotions, she's better than in other movies and makes the disease believable.

Speak - 3.5/5 - One that i downloaded out of the Kristen Stewart back catalogue. And it's only for Kristen Stewart fans. And by that, i mean fans of her acting ability. Right bunch of pervs around here....

But it's a very good coming-of-age film revolving around a very difficult subject, but done excellently.

And this is why people rave about Kristen Stewart.

In The Land Of Women - 3/5 - Another one from the Kristen Stewart back catalogue. And if you find Adam Brody unobjectionable, as i do, then you'd like this. And all the `Women`, Meg Ryan (Mum), Kristen Stewart (Teen Daughter) and younger sister are excellent, and Olympia Dukakis is a scream as Grandma, having a lot of fun playing the demented grandmother of Brody's character.
It's a nice story, full of great scenes and it'll leave you with a smile on your face.

But again, this is why people rave about Kristen Stewart's acting ability.

The Cake Eaters - 3.5/5 - Interesting little indie about family and dealing with illness, with Kristen Stewart in one of the central roles, pulling off a very convincing physical portrayl of a teenager with a debilitating genetic neurophysiological condition, and how she handles her family, life and surroundings.

    A must-watch if you're a fan of Stewart's work (beyond `Twilight` ), as I am.

(If you think `Twilight` is the height of her acting ability, you might want to watch something else. `Hannah Montana`, perhaps. Or something with `Jonas` in the title. )

Thanks, arespilgrim - not bad, your reviews!

But I think we've hijacked this Ashley Greene thread enough. Another time and place to continue with our rants and praises.
