    Cowell dropped the ball massively. She was far more talented.

    Cowell knew that those two young lads were creating more buzz around the show than having a bunch of (genuinely) talented singers for once. So he bailed on a talented girl and kept the boys in for no other reason than he knew he would be able to keep the tabloids generating pages about the show due to the scandal of the boys being kept in over someone who had real talent.

    Everyone knows those boys were never going to make it but Cowell had smarts enough to keep them in. Only problem is that he's now back a faceless, "here today, gone later today" singer when he could have backed Lucy.

    In short, he dropped the ball.

    i agree about Lucie's talent (i follow her on Twitter as well) but sadly ppl weren't voting for her (i did!)
    Cowell thought the media hype for Jedward would transfer into votes
    he took a gamble and lost

    imo she would have been voted out before the semi's anyway

    btw Lucie is contracted to Cowell's label - they all are...
    so he could help make her a star if he wanted to

    so he gambled on Jedward who were getting massive publicity at the time

    He didn't gamble on the boys. He knew they wouldn't win. He wanted the headlines. He was playing the media game against the voters. We all watched it. We all know what happened.

    imo X Factor doesn't need a stunt to hit the headlines
    it tops the viewing figures week in week out whatever happens

    btw if the judges had let it go to the public vote (as in previous weeks)

    Any nobody with nice tits (or in Lucie's case, legs) can attend a movie premiere, nightclub/letter opening in the UK! It's hardly a measure of talent (i.e. Jodie Marsh) or popularity (i.e. Jodie Marsh).
    I hate The X Factor but Simon Cowell is an extremely shrewd businessman worth millions of pounds, and you don't get to where he is by making too many mistakes. He knew J&E, deplorable as they are, were more marketable than Lucie. She can complain all she wants about not being able to accept alleged offers and whatnot but the fact is no one would have heard of her had it not been for Cowell. And she's still under contract to him meaning he could give her a recording contract if he wants, so the ball is hardly dropped.
    Personally I hope she gives up on the singing route and focuses more on the modelling, for... personal reasons :naughty:

    Now can we please get back to the reason we're on this forum - derrogatory comments about the female form!
