    Hoi PM :wavey:

the acting is awful, they try to make the plotlines complex, but they're kinda stupid with big loopholes. It's a frickin' mess.

Uh nobody of real big note. Have you seen/heard about the HBO World War II series "Band of Brothers"? Same producer and director (Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg) is doing "The Pacific", which is about the World War II in the Pacific.

no shit... Ok, now I have to get tv again. My Dad was on the Enterprise from 03/1942 till 04/1946. I'll have to see it. You couldnt grow up in our house without knowing all about WW2. I could rattle off AA silhouette's almost before I could read.

Yeah, I'm a pretty big fan of Band of Brothers, so I have high hopes for The Pacific. Supposedly it details 5 core marines, one of them being John Basilone, the only marine to ever be awarded both the Medal of Honor and the Navy Cross.

Woah, military background for the Phunners... my grandfather was in the National Revolution Army in China during WWII. He left China to Thailand when the People's Republic took control.

    what years?
If they want to do the medal winners thing up real well, they need to have an episode where they tell Jay Zeamers story. I first read it as a kid in one of my Dad's books "Flying Forts -the B-17" by Martin Caiden.

    Awesome story.

Bet that was a cool story. That'd make interesting reading. I may have to look it up. Havent ever focused on that area in my reading.

Toward the end. He was barely in and the war ended.

It is and isn't. He left to Thailand mostly because he wanted to live like a king and supposedly had a harem. But he died when I was really young, so I never got a chance to ask him about his military days... sometimes I hear bits and pieces about it from my grandma.

The thing about my dad: He never talked about the war. Never bragged or even told stories. It's like he wasn't in it. Interesting.
