Nah, I like San Jose but I also like the Wings. I don't really care, honestly.

 

Fucking ridiculous....I'm not one to complain about the refs.....But...I don't think I have ever seen 10 power plays in a Cup playoff game...............the refs absolutely handed this game to to sharks...

 

The thing is, both teams brought good games to the ice. You could see that at the start. But the refs decided the outcome. It's too bad when two VERY good teams don't get to really play because of bad officiating -- in any sport, any city.

I believe there was 12 power plays to San Jose and 4 to Detroit.

Announcers (Canadian) and both teams were American, they said the Ref'ing was pretty weird tonight.

 

I didn't have any sound. Did the announcers say anything about it?

 

Without sound, and watching on a little window on my computer, I was not influenced by any sound. I saw what I saw, and it was terrible.

 

NHL zebras are a joke nowadays.

Bah, what did you see during the Habs-Pens match? The same thing. Bergeron got a penalty for holding Talbot but Letang did EVEN worst by holding, but didn't receive anything... That's stupid...

But yeah the zebras still need some lions to wake them up.

There are too many bad officials now because of more teams/games. You get more BAD refs/linesmen that trickle through -- there are not enough good officials to call all the games now.

 

Now I'll speak as a Wings fan: The Wings played a great game despite the officiating. They have nothing to hang their heads about. My team rocked! But 2-0 may be too much to overcome.

 

I remember the caricature of Gary Bettman in Bon Cop Bad Cop, was "Harry Buttman" or something like that. Was very small, an American patriot, was concerned to move every canadians teams to the U.S.

At the end, David Bouchard called him the Penguin because he was walking like a penguin (a real dwarf but no beard )

 

I remember the Habs-Caps Game 2 when the Canadiens had a good lead up until the refs started calling BS calls.

One Habs goal was reviewed (it was a legit goal) but I'm pretty sure the ref actually talked with Buttman on the phone.

 

Next games are going to be at Detroit so maybe the "7th player", the crowd, might be something good.
