    same here... I always start at 8, and if it needs to be just a little clearer I save it as a 9er.

    But you can't stare yourself blind at the size.. I have done a few sigs for people here where the result would almost be at 200kb.. and sizing them down would look really bad so I trashed them and started with something else... if it doesn't look good there are just no use in using them!

    We think the same way about that. In Save for Web, I start at 100 percent and slide the slider down 3 or 4 percent at a time to see the result.
