You might benefit from it as well. For years all the oems used intels free compiler to write configs for computers bios. A few years ago, M$ tried to change the industry standard to a M$ compiler, that guess what, mis-compiled for 'Nix / Mac systems but didnt screw up M$ systems. It was a cheapshot way to make Winblows look better. I learned about the whole thing because when I switched from Win > Linux all my fans quit working. But because my fans are completely controlled by the 965 chipset, the OS is totally irrelevant. So why did my fans stop? Because Gateway had used the M$ compiler, which intentionally told my system that if the bios found that I used Linux or anything except Windows xp or higher that the chipset should turn off all my fans until windows was detected.....

    How's that for bullshit?

There are tons of people on the mac laptop forums that have overheating issues. Most of them come from dsdt errors that tell the bios to run differently if the system doesnt/isnt a windows system. Doesnt really matter if it's a mac or a dell or a gateway. Any system that had it's bios compiled by the M$ compiler when it's bios was put together has the issue built in. Because mac is closed source, the mac users trying to get the custom dsdt files with the errors fixed are having a much more difficult time getting it to work right, but they're a persistent bunch.

Here's a google of dsdt's in snow leopard, lol.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...pard&aq=1&aqi=g8g-s1g1&aql=&oq=dsdt+&gs_rfai=

Maybe it's something that might help you out, lol

    Heya you two.

Yeah I know, but iPhone development just doesn't interest me. The programming language doesn't help either!

    You mean like subject?

I'm still in my first year in software engineering and only done 3 courses in SE after two semesters (besides physics/maths). I mainly prefer courses where we actually do some coding (Java mostly). We have some courses that are more theoretical like software architecture, software maintenance and tests, etc. The one with the iPhone development is part of my interfaces class. Can't wait to finish that assignment and start the next one where we actually choose our own programming language and project.

Cool. I havent had a programming class since 1983 when we were taught assembly on trs-80s. I'd love to take some python classes. Python is pretty quickly replacing java since Oracle has bought up Sun, so java... who knows? oracle is already making bullshit noises about open office.

Heh, I watched that a couple weeks ago PM. It's pretty good, right up to the end, when Danny makes Jessup fall apart. You couldnt make that guy lose his military bearing like that with a flame thrower, lol.
