I've never even check memory swapping on my Mac. I used to do that all the time with my old Macs -- Virtual Memory, etc.

 

heh, I just went from swapping mem 60% of the time to 10% of the time. There's 4 GB of system mem in this thing and i was swapping at 1.5GB. That's retarded.

Next up is to create a virtual hdd in system ram and move my firefox + webcache directly to it.

 

When Macs had the option of Virtual Memory, I didn't use it. It slowed the computer down. On Macs, at least, you just have to add RAM for the most efficient operation of the apps (especially Photoshop!).

 

Damn, I went past 58k without noticing.

 

@ 4GB I'm maxed out for the 965 chipset. When I move up to the pm45 I'll goto 12 GB @1066 mhz. That'll be nice.
